CUPPING THERAPY

Cupping therapy is an alternative therapeutic method that has been popular in China since around 1000 B.C. It is used to increase blood flow to problematic areas of the body, releasing deep tissues, relaxing tense muscles, and easing stiffness associated with chronic pains.

The therapy provokes a considerable relaxation response. By stimulating the oxygenation and detoxification of blood, it promotes a feeling of lighness and relief of pressure. The body stress responses and its negative effects lower, therefore offering protection against anxiety and depression.

Cupping marks are created from the release of inflammation, congestion, toxins and stagnation in the deep and superficial layers of the body's tissues and skin layers. The process of lifting the tissue, by creating a partial vacuum to the skin, gives space for the healthy rush of new blood and oxygen to flow in areas that were once compressed and tight. The colour of the marks usually fades within a few days.
