It consist in slow and deep strokes using hands, fingers and forearm pressure on the contracted areas.
It eases the tension in the muscles, releases toxins and aids blood and oxygen circulation as well as helping to break up and eliminate scar tissue in the muscles.
The aim is to break down adhesions, reduce physical pain, restore normal range of movement and improve suppleness of muscles and joints.
There is usually some stiffness or pain after a deep tissue massage, but it subside within a day or two.
